Autonomy Project Discussion Groups/Seminars at Liverpool School of Art and Design.
At the first Autonomy Project Seminar/Discussion Group it was agreed that subsequent discussions would focus around the presentations of projects/artworks to be discussed within the framework and rubric of Autonomy. By doing this, it is hoped that a series of case studies will be provided from which proposals can be carried forward to the Autonomy Project Summer School in Eindhoven in late June early July 2010.
As a starting point, we agree in principal that autonomy is not a given, it is something that has to be worked for, struggled for and taken in our current social/economic and political climate. We also agreed that we weren’t trying to re-define autonomy ‘as such’. Rather, we were trying to open up and re-negotiate the territory of autonomy.
It is hoped that the discussion threads for our group will offer an opportunity fo images, videos, sound recordings and texts of work to be discussed.
