This takes me back to the 1980's and ideas that others then thought were just a little crazy, and a long time before the majority of the intelligentsia were the slightest bit Eco-conscious.

I went a long way down the line of trying to secure a place like this with the view to alternative living some 20 odd years ago in a place called wild boar clough - unfortunately I had very little support at the time and bugger all money. I suggested the re-use of the dilapidated old mills to a local property owner along the then still disused canals in Cheshire in the late 70's early 80's. I think it was about another ten years or so before the burgeoning loft industry reinvented the concept of city living in Manchester. (& before there was a canal street as we know it today in Manchester for that matter)

The trouble was that it was great so long as it was a money spinner or led to business opportunities, but the idea of doing more than just creating new avenues for the tourist industry was lost.

Anyway, love the idea of ruminating and discussion at Parkamoor but for a more active involvement there is also Barncamp in the Wye Valley for the techie and not so techie. Apparently they're looking for carpet for the bar in the barn!

Well done Mr Ruskin, got there before all of us didn' he.
